A suspect in the armed robbery of a Fredericksburg 7-Eleven was arrested just hours later in Stafford County. Authorities credit quick coordination between jurisdictions for the arrest.
The incident occurred early on November 13, 2024, at the 7-Eleven on 340 Amaret Street. Around 1:30 a.m., a masked man entered the convenience store, made a small purchase, and then pulled a firearm at the register. He demanded cash, and the store clerk complied. The suspect then fled on foot.
Fredericksburg police reviewed surveillance footage and provided a description of the suspect to Stafford County law enforcement. A Stafford County sergeant soon spotted a man matching the description at another 7-Eleven location.
The suspect, 30-year-old Marquis Harrell of Stafford County, was taken into custody. He is facing several charges, including:
Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
Robbery with a firearm
Brandishing a firearm
Felon in possession of a firearm
Wearing a mask in a public place
The investigation is still active, and authorities believe Harrell may face additional charges from other jurisdictions.
