Two years after 19-year-old Antione Fox was shot and killed in Fredericksburg, city police say they’ve made an arrest in the case.
On May 29, detectives took 26-year-old Ahmad Haigler of Spotsylvania into custody. He’s now being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail and faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fox’s killing happened on June 10, 2023. Since then, detectives say they’ve worked the case continuously, ultimately gathering enough evidence to identify Haigler as the suspect.
Lead Detectives Dobson and Boyle were credited with pushing the investigation forward over the past two years. Fredericksburg Police also thanked the city’s Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for its legal support during the case.
Police have not released additional details about what led to the arrest or how Haigler may have known the victim. The investigation is still ongoing.
