A routine patrol by Deputy E.L. Shelton turned into a criminal discovery when a Hyundai backed into a crane outside the Wawa on Garrisonville Road. Upon investigating the scene and speaking with the two vehicle occupants, Deputy Shelton observed interior damage consistent with a stolen vehicle. Contact with the vehicle’s owner confirmed it had been reported stolen from Maryland.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of stolen goods, destruction of property, driving without a license, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was later released on personal recognizance. The juvenile passenger also faces a criminal complaint for possession of stolen goods.
