A driver who ran a red light was arrested late Wednesday night after Deputy B.E. Vaughn observed the traffic violation firsthand. Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy noted signs of intoxication. The driver admitted to drinking wine and had a suspended license. While attempting field sobriety tests, the driver candidly remarked that he couldn’t have completed them even sober. He was charged with DUI, driving while suspended, and failure to obey a traffic light. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
