Investigation Ongoing After Man Shot in Fredericksburg Apartment Complex

Fredericksburg Police are still investigating a shooting that left one man injured early Thursday morning in the Crestview Apartments neighborhood.

The incident happened just after midnight, around 12:37 a.m. on January 22. Officers were originally sent to Weston Lane after a 911 call reported a shooting, but the actual crime scene was later identified as the 200 block of Crestview Way.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Police say three men approached the victim and fired multiple rounds. The victim was hit once and taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Right now, police haven’t released descriptions of the suspects. There’s been no word on a motive either.

Officers are expected to have a stronger presence in the area as they continue canvassing for evidence and gathering witness statements.

Police are asking residents with any home surveillance footage between midnight and 1:30 a.m. on January 22—or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious—to come forward.
