A Stafford resident reported unauthorized charges on their credit card, as well as receiving a threatening email. The email claimed the sender had ongoing access to the victim’s accounts and demanded a Bitcoin payment to prevent further intrusion. Deputies are investigating the incident and remind residents not to respond to extortion attempts.
