Intoxicated Driver Climbs Onto Patrol Vehicle on White Oak Road in Stafford VA

Deputy Steinway responded to a complaint of an intoxicated driver on White Oak Road late on February 18.

The vehicle was reported to be driving erratically without headlights and posing a danger to other motorists. When Deputy Steinway attempted a traffic stop, the driver failed to pull over. After two attempts to disable the vehicle, deputies were able to make contact.

When ordered to exit the vehicle, the driver climbed out of the window, sat on the roof of the car, and then moved onto the hood of the patrol vehicle before being taken into custody.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Gabrielle Katzbahn of King George, showed signs of impairment and began suffering a panic attack. She was transported to the emergency room for evaluation.

Katzbahn was charged with driving under the influence, felony eluding, malicious shooting or throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle, and driving without headlights. She was held without bond at the Magistrate’s Office.
