Driver Arrested for DUI Following Hit and Run on Hulls Chapel Road

Deputy Copeland and Sergeant Hall responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Hulls Chapel Road.

During the investigation, deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol from the driver and conducted field sobriety testing. The driver initially denied drinking but later admitted to having two shots earlier in the day.

A search of the vehicle revealed two bottles of alcohol, and surveillance footage confirmed the driver had backed into another vehicle before leaving the scene.

The driver was identified as Jennifer Sudduth, 43, of Spotsylvania. She was charged with driving under the influence, failure to fix a defect after inspection, and misdemeanor hit and run. Sudduth was held on a secured bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
