Deputy Pitts responded to a fraud complaint on Morningmist Drive after a resident reported possible identity theft. The victim told authorities they received a 1099 tax form showing employment with Uber, despite never having worked for the company.
The victim believed someone had fraudulently used their identity to obtain employment or earnings under their name. Deputy Pitts advised the victim to report the matter to the IRS as part of the next steps in the investigation.
