Deputies responded to a disturbance at a Wawa location after a suspect became upset when they were unable to purchase alcohol due to the late hour.
Upon arrival, the individual showed clear signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol and difficulty maintaining balance. The suspect admitted to consuming multiple alcoholic beverages prior to the incident.
Heriberto Peraza, 63, of Jacksonville, was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
