Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance involving a possible firearm. Upon investigation, the suspect claimed an unknown individual had pointed a weapon during an altercation.
However, deputies found no firearm and determined the suspect had been drinking heavily. Signs of intoxication included glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol. A breath test confirmed the suspect’s blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
Orlando Orellana-Cortez, 34, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
