Deputy Pitts responded to a fraud complaint on Hartwood Road involving a suspicious change to an insurance policy. The victim reported receiving an email stating their Geico premium would double due to a newly added driver.
Concerned, the victim contacted the company and confirmed the driver was unauthorized. Geico promptly removed the individual from the policy. Further investigation revealed the suspect may have previously worked for the company, though officials stated the individual was no longer employed at the time of the incident.
No additional threats to the victim’s account were reported following the correction.
