A resident reported being targeted in a Publishers Clearinghouse scam after being told they had won a prize. The suspect provided convincing documents and even included the victim’s name on a fake award.
The victim was instructed to send gift cards to cover fees but quickly realized the deception after initial payment.
Deputies advised the victim to cease all communication and notify their bank.
