A late-night crash in the Truslow Ridge area led to a DUI arrest after deputies discovered a driver asleep behind the wheel. When Deputy Kehoe arrived on scene, the vehicle was found off the roadway in the grass, with a case of alcoholic beverages visible in the backseat.
After being awakened, the driver showed clear signs of impairment, including slurred speech and erratic behavior. The individual admitted to drinking earlier in the day. A field sobriety test was conducted, which led to the driver’s arrest.
At the Sheriff’s Office, a breath test confirmed the driver’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. Deputies also located an open container of alcohol in the passenger seat.
The driver, identified as Gunner Barker, 39, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence and drinking while operating a motor vehicle. He was held on a secured bond.
