A Stafford resident reported being targeted in a Publisher’s Clearinghouse scam involving multiple phone and FaceTime contacts.
According to authorities, the suspects falsely claimed the victim had won money, a vehicle, and a bonus prize. The victim was instructed to purchase prepaid gift cards and eventually provided the card information.
The suspects continued attempting to extract more money, claiming additional fees were required. The victim ceased communication after becoming suspicious.
No suspects have been identified at this time.
