Deputies responded to a suspicious person call at a 7-11 along Richmond Highway early Tuesday morning. When Deputy Copeland arrived, the individual showed clear signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, an unsteady stance, and the odor of alcohol.
An alcoholic beverage was found nearby, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Authorities identified the individual as 33-year-old Joseph Gingrich of Stafford. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
