Fredericksburg Man Arrested for DUI After Erratic Driving Near Taco Bell

Deputy Bates conducted a traffic stop near Taco Bell on Garrisonville Road after observing a vehicle being driven erratically.

During the stop, the driver allegedly admitted to attempting to race another vehicle. Deputies reported observing signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol. Investigators also discovered the driver’s license had been revoked.

After field sobriety testing and a breath sample, the driver was arrested. Additional testing at the Sheriff’s Office reportedly confirmed the driver’s blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit.

John Vita, 34, of Fredericksburg, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a revoked license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
