Stafford Man Arrested for DUI Following Trespassing Complaint

A Stafford man was arrested for driving under the influence after deputies responded to a trespassing complaint Sunday evening.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was reportedly walking around a resident’s garage and driving around the property. When deputies arrived, the suspect attempted to flee before being stopped.

Investigators said the driver showed multiple signs of impairment, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and an odor of alcohol. A breath test later showed the suspect’s blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

Sherard Monk, 51, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
