Fredericksburg police are asking for the public’s help after reports of suspicious activity involving a person in a pink costume near the Lafayette Boulevard corridor.
According to the Fredericksburg Police Department, the city’s E-911 Center received a report around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, about an individual allegedly following children in the area.
Police described the suspect as wearing a pink costume. Investigators released an image of the individual as they work to identify and locate the person.
The department said it is treating the reports seriously and has increased patrols along the Lafayette Boulevard corridor while the investigation continues.
Residents in the area are being urged to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious behavior to authorities.
Anyone who may have seen the individual or had contact with the suspect is asked to contact the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by texting “FPDtip” followed by the tip to 847-411 or through the free “FPD Tip” mobile app available for Android and iPhone users.
Police have not released additional details about the incidents, and investigators have not said whether any crimes have been confirmed at this stage.
The investigation remains ongoing.
