A Stafford man was arrested for driving under the influence after deputies found him parked on the side of the road near Austin Run Boulevard and Richmond Highway.
Authorities said the driver admitted he had stopped to urinate before deputies observed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol.
Although the suspect refused field sobriety tests, he later provided breath samples that reportedly showed his blood alcohol content exceeded the legal limit.
Dario Lara De La Cruz, 42, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
