A Stafford man was arrested after allegedly punching an employee at the Weis Market on Garrisonville Road.
Deputies responding to the assault report attempted to detain the suspect, who reportedly resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and spoke with witnesses, confirming the suspect punched the employee in the face.
Tariq Brown, 26, of Stafford, was charged with assault and battery as well as obstruction of justice. He was also trespassed from Weis Market locations and held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
