A motorcycle crash investigation resulted in numerous criminal charges after deputies determined the rider was allegedly under the influence.
Deputies responding to the crash observed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, an odor of alcohol and difficulty maintaining balance. The rider refused field sobriety testing and was taken into custody after allegedly resisting deputies.
Investigators recovered a large knife from the suspect and located two firearms in the motorcycle’s saddlebags. A search warrant was obtained to collect a blood sample after the suspect refused testing.
While being processed at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, deputies also discovered a spoon-like device containing a white powdery residue inside the suspect’s wallet. Additional charges were obtained following that discovery.
Marlin Adams, 32, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath or blood test, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated, obstruction of justice with force, obstruction of justice, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
