Two men were arrested after deputies responded to reports of intoxicated individuals near a cemetery on Carter Street.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, callers reported the suspects were stumbling through the cemetery. Deputies located the men sitting on a bench and observed signs of alcohol impairment, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and the odor of alcohol.
Gates Lund, 42, of Milford, and Matthew Young, 38, of Stafford, were both charged with public intoxication and taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
