The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fraud case after residents discovered unauthorized activity involving their bank account.
Deputy Waheed responded after the victims reported they had not received a credit card statement for several months. Further investigation revealed an unauthorized check had been cashed and their mailing address had been changed. The victims froze the affected account after notifying their bank.
No suspects have been identified.
