Deputies investigating an abandoned motorcycle instead arrested the driver who arrived to retrieve it.
Deputy Copeland observed an open container of alcohol inside the driver’s vehicle and noticed signs of impairment. The driver refused a roadside breath test, and subsequent testing at the Sheriff’s Office showed a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. Investigators also determined the driver’s license had previously been revoked for DUI-related offenses.
Herbert Mul-Key, 43, of Woodbridge, was charged with driving under the influence, driving after forfeiture of a license, and drinking while operating a motor vehicle. He was held on a secured bond.
