The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office received a fraud report on Goose Pond Road after a resident received a suspicious collections notice in the mail.
Deputy Oloye responded after the victim reported receiving a letter from a collections agency claiming that money was owed. The victim recognized the letter as a scam and had not suffered any financial loss at the time of the report.
Deputy Oloye advised the victim to notify the Federal Trade Commission about the incident.
