A 23-year-old Fredericksburg woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a Stafford County deputy observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Richmond Highway.
Deputy Gildea conducted a traffic stop and reported that the driver showed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and dilated pupils. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver declined field sobriety tests.
Deputies also found several packages of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Alejandra Gomez Gomez, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and a traffic lane violation.
Gomez Gomez was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond. The packages of marijuana were submitted as evidence.
