Two Stafford residents were arrested following a shoplifting investigation at Walmart on Garrisonville Road.
Deputy E. Jones responded after receiving information that the suspects had previously shoplifted from the store. On August 7, the suspects allegedly returned and were captured on camera placing various items in a cart before attempting to pay for only some of the merchandise and leaving without paying for the remaining items.
Loss prevention provided the deputy with surveillance footage and the license plate of the suspects’ vehicle. Deputies went to the suspects’ residence, where both were arrested.
Demetrius Lyons-Carroll, 23, of Stafford, was charged with two counts of shoplifting and released on a personal recognizance bond. Azzareya Scarborough, 21, of Stafford, was charged with three counts of shoplifting and also released on a personal recognizance bond.
