A Stafford County deputy responded to Rappahannock Regional Jail after receiving a report of an intoxicated person in the lobby.
Deputies said James Beverly, 44, of Fredericksburg, showed signs of impairment including glassy eyes, slurred speech, an unsteady balance and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Beverly was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
