A reported shoplifting incident at Target on South Gateway Drive led Stafford County deputies to arrest two people.
Deputies were told a suspect ran from the store after attempting to shoplift merchandise. Another deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The passenger was identified as the person reportedly seen running from the store.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the passenger initially provided false identification before eventually giving his legitimate identity. Authorities then determined he was wanted in Stafford, Spotsylvania and Prince William counties. A search reportedly uncovered narcotics and a credit card bearing the driver’s name.
The driver, Edith Sage, 38, of Stafford, was found to have a revoked license, according to the report. Deputies also located a concealed weapon near the driver’s seat and additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia in a bag on the passenger-side floorboard.
Sage was charged with driving with a revoked license and carrying a concealed weapon and was held on a secured bond.
The passenger, Johnnie Mickle Jr., 39, of Fredericksburg, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, falsely identifying himself to law enforcement, identity theft and shoplifting. He was also served with outstanding warrants.
