A complaint about a suspected drunk driver led to an arrest near Travis Lane and Garrisonville Road.
A Stafford County Sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle and observed it allegedly failing to maintain its lane before conducting a traffic stop. Police said the driver had glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath and admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day.
Following field sobriety testing, the driver was arrested. Authorities said a later breath sample showed his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
Jorge Varela Velasquez, 49, of Woodbridge, was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
