A 19-year-old Stafford man was arrested following an incident that authorities said involved aggressive driving and an attempt to strike another vehicle.
Deputy Edwards responded to an auto accident near Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard after receiving information that a driver had been operating a vehicle recklessly before the crash.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect claimed the victim had been following him, prompting him to turn around and begin following the victim. The suspect also reportedly admitted to driving toward the victim’s vehicle.
The victim told authorities the suspect had been driving erratically, leading the victim to notify law enforcement about a possible drunk driver.
After speaking with both parties, authorities determined that the suspect drove on the wrong side of the road in an attempt to strike the victim before later rear-ending the victim at the intersection of Courthouse Road and Wyche Road.
The suspect was identified as Joshua Daniels, 19, of Stafford. Daniels was charged with simple assault and battery and aggressive driving. He was released on an unsecured bond.
