A Stafford County resident reported a fraud involving suspects who allegedly posed as members of Truist Bank’s fraud department.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the victim received a call concerning purported unauthorized transactions. After confirming the transactions were not authorized, the victim was instructed to log into a PayPal account. The victim then discovered several additional unauthorized transactions.
The victim contacted the legitimate bank, which closed the account and began an investigation. Deputy Pitts responded to the report. Daily Incident Report
