The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported fraud incident involving a residence advertised for rent online without the property owner’s permission.
Deputy Carey responded to Buchanan Court on October 15 after a homeowner reported receiving a notification that their property had been listed online as a rental.
According to the sheriff’s office, the homeowner had not authorized the listing.
The report did not identify the website where the property was advertised or indicate whether anyone had responded to the listing.
No suspects have been identified.
