Deputy R. Tully was in the area when he observed a running vehicle at the closed business. As Deputy Tully approached, the driver attempted to take off; however, they quickly stopped. The driver had signs of intoxication and was attempting to conceal a firearm under his leg. The driver was detained and admitted to scratching the serial number off the firearm. He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a concealed firearm while intoxicated, removing the serial number of a firearm, and driving without a license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
