Deputy responded to a disturbance. Staff advised after a few beers, a New Jersey man attempted to pay using copper wire. When that payment type didn’t work for obvious reasons, the suspect went across the street to Applebee’s. Deputies located the suspect, again trying to pay using copper wire, in an intoxicated state. He was taken to Stafford County as he was placed under arrest for public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Neither restaurant wanted to pursue charges for the larceny.
