Deputy K.W. Suter responded to a scam. The victim received a call from someone posing as a Sergeant with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The fake Sergeant advised the victim missed jury duty that day and needed to pay using gift cards or be arrested. After providing the gift card information over the phone the victim drove to the courthouse to discover the courts were closed due to the snow.
