Dispatch received a dangerous drunk driver report. The caller advised an Audi had verged off the roadway into the grass during its travel. The Audi became even more hazardous when it swerved into oncoming traffic. The caller provided live updates as Sergeant D.U. Demirci and Deputy C.R. Newman arrived to make contact with the suspect. The driver, who was “running regular errands,” had some regular signs of intoxication, like the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath. She would further advise she “supposedly” had some wine before starting her errands. The next item on the to-do list was to charge her with driving under the influence and refusal. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 1/24/25 8:54 p.m.
