A wanted suspect was taken into custody Thursday morning after a Stafford County deputy spotted him at a local hotel.
Deputy Jones observed the suspect at the Clarion Inn on Warrenton Road and made contact. During the arrest, the deputy searched the suspect’s pockets and located a plastic bag containing a white powder along with dollar bills that had white residue on them.
The suspect was identified as Jameel Washington, 48, of Stafford. Washington was served with his outstanding warrant and also charged with possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic.
He was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail where he is being held without bond. The suspected narcotics and currency were collected and submitted as evidence.
