Deputy T.W. Jenkins responded to an assault. It was advised a male suspect escalated a verbal argument by getting physical and using a taser on the victim. The suspect would leave prior to deputies’ arrival. Deputy X.D. Bates was able to locate the suspect in an intoxicated state as he littered his alcohol can. The suspect would resist being detained; however, that was short lived. The suspect would not wish to talk about the incident other than “take me to Rappahannock.” Deputies complied. The suspect was charged with simple assault, public intoxication, littering, and obstruction of justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
