The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted fraud after a resident discovered unauthorized financial activity affecting their credit.
The victim reported noticing a decline in their credit score caused by attempted unauthorized transactions originating in Florida. Fortunately, no financial loss had occurred when the incident was reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
