A late-night disturbance near Drew Middle School ended in an arrest after deputies encountered an individual behaving erratically.
The suspect was seen running across a school football field and screaming before being stopped by deputies. The individual later admitted to taking psychedelic mushrooms earlier in the day.
During the arrest, the suspect resisted and continued to act erratically.
Gabriel Cortes, 19, of Fredericksburg, was charged with public intoxication, trespassing on school property, and obstruction of justice.
