A Stafford resident avoided financial loss after becoming the target of a scam while making a DoorDash delivery.
According to deputies, the victim received a phone call from someone claiming to represent DoorDash. The caller instructed the victim to cancel an order and provide account information to ensure payment.
The victim later noticed an unauthorized transaction attempt and contacted the real DoorDash company, which confirmed it was a scam and declined the transaction. No money was lost.
