A 24-year-old King George man was arrested after a vehicle reportedly left White Oak Road, entered a ditch and struck multiple pieces of property.
The Sheriff’s Office said the driver showed signs of impairment and admitted consuming alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered, although the driver declined a breath sample at the scene. Deputies also found open alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.
A later breath sample at the Sheriff’s Office indicated the driver’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit, according to the report.
Jacob Fortune-Dever, 24, of King George, was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while operating a motor vehicle and two counts of destruction of property. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
