Location: Maplewood Drive and Brooke Road, Stafford VA Time: September 30, 2026, 6:56 p.m.
A 76-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested on a driving under the influence charge following a single-vehicle accident near Maplewood Drive and Brooke Road.
Deputy Hart responded after receiving information that a vehicle had traveled off the roadway.
During contact with the driver, the deputy observed several indicators of possible alcohol impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, difficulty maintaining balance, and the odor of alcohol.
The driver declined field sobriety testing but provided a breath sample.
Following his arrest, additional breath testing at the Sheriff’s Office indicated a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.
The driver was identified as Maynard Coddington Jr., 76, of Fredericksburg. He was charged with driving under the influence.
