Sergeant E.E. West was traveling in the area when she observed a Hyundai having a hard time maintaining the lane of travel despite going approximately 20 MPH. Sergeant West conducted a traffic stop as Deputy M.A. Holub responded to assist. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming “a few beers.” Deputies observed numerous open Bud Light bottles strewn throughout the vehicle. The driver, currently on vacation, would have an extended layover for he was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, driving without a license, and the traffic lane violation. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.
