Deputy P.J. Leon was traveling on Richmond Highway when he observed a vehicle in the intersection. The vehicle was stopped past the stop bar before accelerating through the red light and began traveling Northbound in the Southbound lanes. For obvious reasons, Deputy Leon conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The driver had signs of intoxication, a previous DUI in Mississippi, and three bottles of gin within the vehicle. The driver was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years with a blood alcohol content above .2, drinking while driving, stopping on a highway, failure to obey a traffic light, and failure to drive on the correct side of the road. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
