A 44-year-old Stafford resident was arrested on several charges following a crash at Sunnyside Drive and Richmond Highway.
Deputy Philippsen responded after receiving information that a driver had struck a vehicle while the victim was on the shoulder of the road. The suspect allegedly displayed signs of impairment, including an odor of alcohol, glassy eyes and slurred speech, and acknowledged consuming alcohol earlier that day.
After field sobriety tests, the suspect declined a breath sample and was arrested. At the Sheriff’s Office, authorities said the suspect refused a blood or breath test and failed to follow police directions.
The suspect was identified as Karla Logothety, 44, of Stafford. Logothety was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing justice, refusal to test and reckless driving. Logothety was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.
