Deputy Waheed responded to a traffic stop initiated by Sergeant Jett at the intersection of Warrenton Road and South Gateway Drive after a vehicle was observed with a broken tailgate and unsecured items in the back.
The driver displayed signs of impairment, including bloodshot and glassy eyes, and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. A field sobriety test was conducted, and a grinder along with loose marijuana was located inside the vehicle. The driver was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for a blood test.
Aiden Connolly, 20, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on an unsecured bond until sober.
