Deputy Philippsen responded to a report of an intoxicated driver at a 7-Eleven on Richmond Highway. Upon arrival, the driver showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, and the odor of alcohol.
Following a field sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody. Open alcoholic beverages were also located inside the vehicle.
Devin Mitchell, 22, of Stafford, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and drinking while operating a motor vehicle. He was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail and held without bond.
